Hezbollah continues firing rockets and drones into northern Israel despite a ceasefire announcement brokered by President Trump. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing fierce political backlash after reportedly cancelling planned strikes on Beirut at Trump’s request.
Another Israeli soldier has been killed in southern Lebanon. Captain Dr. Ori Yosef Silvester was killed in a Hezbollah drone strike, becoming the 14th IDF soldier killed since the April ceasefire took effect.
And at the UN Security Council every member except the United States called on Israel to withdraw from Lebanon, while UN Secretary-General António Guterres pushes for a new international peacekeeping force to replace UNIFIL.
