UNICEF figures have cast serious doubt on claims that Israel deliberately starved children in Gaza, showing malnutrition rates in the Strip were lower than in Syria and Jordan — and far lower than in Sudan — after improving sharply from 2025.
Those allegations are central to the international legal cases against Israel. British barrister Natasha Hausdorff, from UK Lawyers for Israel and the newly formed Centre for the International Rule of Law, joins Israel in Ten to discuss what the latest evidence could mean for proceedings at the ICC and ICJ.
Meanwhile, Energy Minister Eli Cohen is on course to top the Likud primary, followed by Amir Ohana, Yariv Levin and Miri Regev. With Likud polling at around 22 to 24 seats, several serving ministers now risk losing their places in the next Knesset.
U.S. special envoy Jared Kushner says Gaza’s demilitarization could begin within 30 days, following nearly four hours of talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Washington says reconstruction will not begin before weapons are removed, while Misgav Institute head Meir Ben-Shabbat warns the proposed 15-point agreement could ultimately guarantee Hamas’s survival.
Tensions are also rising in the Strait of Hormuz after a commercial vessel was struck by a projectile. The U.S. says its “steel wall blockade” has redirected 64 vessels, while Iran has renewed threats against shipping. Senior Iranian officials have meanwhile warned that mounting economic pressure could fuel domestic unrest and weaken the regime’s legitimacy.
President Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 33 percent, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, while 80 percent of respondents expect U.S. involvement in Iran to continue.
And Egypt is warning Ethiopia not to proceed with plans for three additional dams on the Nile, escalating their long-running dispute over control of the river.
